Bojonegoro Barrage

Geographic location of Solo river basin is between 110° 18' and 112° 45' East longitude and between 6° 49' and 8° 08' South latitude. The average slope of the Lower Solo river is 1/12,000 varying from 1/6,200 in its upper reaches, 1/10,000 in the middle reaches to 1/21,000 in the lower reaches. The width of the present river channel is approximately 150 m to 200 m and the depth is about 7 m. The present flow capacity of the existing channel ranges from 1,450 m3/sec to 1,800 m3/sec. The Lower Solo River Improvement Project aims at increasing the flow capacity of the river channel to about 2,500 m3/sec which is the protection level against a probable 10 year flood by construction of a dyking system on the main river and its tributaries from Cepu to Tanjungkepala and a shortcut channel at Karanggeneng.

Overall Lower Solo River Improvement Project is to be implemented in the river stretch located in Cepu at the upstream end and in Tanjung Kepala at the downstream end of the mainstream of Lower Solo river as shown as Fig. 1.1 and Fig. 1.2. Package BJ–1, Bojonegoro Barrage consists of Works for the construction of inlet channel (L = 989 m), overflow weir (W = 140 m) with related structure outlet channel (L = 769 m) and inspection bridge structutres (14 span L = 497 m) excluding Hydromechanical works (to be contracted separately as Package BJ–2).
Package BJ–1 is one of the Packages which implement the construction of the Bojonegoro barrage.
Object of Bojonegoro barrage is to store the river water for the water supply for the irrigation requirement near the site throughout the year, particularly in the dry season.(http://ujang-sundanis.blogspot.com)
